Between May 2021 to June 2022, Coventry City of Culture organised & produced an incredible array of events. During this time, we worked alongside the team, to plan and book marketing activity for over 35 events.

From TV and Radio to Digital, Social Media & Out of Home, here’s a quick glance at a selection of the events that we worked on!

The Turner Prize

Housed in the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry, The Turner Prize is awarded annually to an artist born, living or working in Britain. Shakespeare Media assisted in the planning & buying of out of home marketing, which was accompanied by radio, digital and social media advertising.

Assembly Festival Garden

Assembly Festival Garden took the city by storm! With a huge spiegeltent tent erected – a mixture of dancers, singers & comedians took to the stages across the summer months. Firstly the Coventry team created a TV advert which was distributed across Sky Adsmart & the ITV Hub. Secondly, we planned a large radio, print and out of home campaign. Choir of Man was a particular highlight to watch!

The Reel Store

The Reel Store is the UK’s first permanent immersive digital art gallery which opened back in May 2022. The space features innovative art commissions & has found a home in the heart of the city. Shakespeare Media managed the paid social media activity, together with programmatic, print and out of home.

Our Wilder Family

Our Wilder Family saw a breath taking drone display light up the skies over War Memorial Park. With leaflet printing & distribution organised, Shakespeare Media ran the paid social media activity, coupled with print advertising and out of home. You can stream the event back here!

Coventry Glides

Once again, Coventry Glides took place in the stunning Cathedral ruins. Guests glided into the festive season at the magical ice rink in the beautifully illuminated historical setting. As Bus Advertising travelled around the region, Coventry Glides took over the radio airways with a campaign across Capital mid-counties and Free Radio Coventry & Warwickshire.

As we reflect back on an amazing 15 months, we could not be prouder to have played a small role in Coventry’s year as City of Culture!
